Jezzanova
- Alun Cook
Flute Choir
4 Flutes with either 2 Altos and 1 Bass or 1 Alto and 2 Basses
Originally written for a Single Reed Ensemble this is a gentle bossanova which mainly explores the lower ranges of the ensemble. Flute Choirs vary in their scoring and this arrangement was requested for 4 flutes, 1 Alto and 2 Basses, but to give more flexibility the 1st Bass part may be played on a 2nd Alto. Do let me know the scoring of your ensemble if it is different as I would like to build up a picture of a standard format if there is such a thing!

Wieldy Waltz
- Alun Cook
Flute and Piano
Found elsewhere on this website as an Alto Saxophone solo, it fits so well on the flute that I could not resist this adaptation. The piano part is quite different in this version, as is the key. Wieldy Waltz has "educational" mileage as it explores a good range, addresses swing rhythms and although generally technically undemanding there are a couple of bars that are quite challenging. Ideal as a GCSE performance piece.

The Santa Express
- Alun Cook
Flute and Piano
In the depths of Kent at Christmas time, the Steam Railways run "Santa Specials" as a Christmas treat for the young and old alike. I hope this composition gives a hint of both Christmas and the locomotives which will certainly be my young sons' favourite treat of the season. This version has been requested for Flute and Piano, the original being for saxophones. It is also available for piano duet and for orchestra.

O, The Holly and the Ivy
- Music by Alun Cook - Words Traditional
2 Part Choir (SS, SA or just S) with optional Solo Flute and piano accompaniment
A new melody to the traditional words of The Holly and the Ivy. Written for 2 part Soprano/Treble/Alto voices with piano accompaniment and featuring an optional flamboyant solo flute part. Ideally it should be performed with the Solo Flute but the music has been carefully written so that it can be performed without, and it can well be performed by just the single soprano line, rather than in harmony. The parts include the piano score, choir score, separate piano part and Flute part. There is also a chamber version for Soprano, Clarinet and Piano available.
