The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
- Handel arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
Yes, it is hard to breathe, but it has been performed many times, and it is very satisfying to get through it! Both parts are fun to play but you might like to have a stiff drink ready - just don't drink it until afterwards.

The Easy Winners
- Scott Joplin arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
The Easy Winners is my favourite Joplin Rag. It is entertaining for both players and agile in both parts. Play this with a smile on your face (well think it anyway - no discussions about embouchure here!). Available as a score or as separate parts.

The Entertainer
- Scott Joplin arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
The wonderfully wide range of the clarinet lends itself to the Joplin Rags. Performers are kept busy switching between bass line and melody. The leaping around adds an element of fun to the performers rendition. Grade 6 pupils should have no problem - it is good practice to 'pop' the odd top 'F', and the semiquaver bar will keep them amused. Available as a score or as separate parts.

Fanfare-ish
- Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet - Antiphonal
A brash antiphonal fanfare for clarinets. Play from opposite sides of the stage. For the last few bars you might like to memorise and head towards each other and meet in the middle.

Flower Duet (from Lakme)
- Delibes arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
A very popular piece and ideal for youngsters to play in school concerts and for examination performances

Four Duets from The Marriage of Figaro
- Mozart arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
Mozart on clarinets? Hard to beat! These arrangements from The Marriage of Figaro are equally challenging for both players, fun to play and good for the audience too! There are four duets, each available as a score or as separate parts. Cherubino's Aria - Cherubino (a young servant) tells Susanna of the fever of his love for women - all women! "Is it pain or pleasure that fills me, and with feverish ecstasy thrills me"
Canzona - Voi, che sapete. A beautiful song of love, sung by Cherubino, who is a girl but playing the role of a boy, although sometimes dressed as a girl, but singing as if he/she were a boy - pure Panto!
Aria - Say Goodbye to "Play". It seems that the lustly young Cherubino is going to be sent off to join the army to dampen his ardour, so plenty of military overtones here.
Cavatina - Figaro sings of how he is keeping a close eye on the Count, who is trying to seduce Figaro's fiancée.

Pieds-en-l'air
- Peter Warlock arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
Beautiful, serene, peaceful music with a dash of "Tabasco" harmonies. This transcribes to a simple clarinet duet, ideal for GCSE work, and although lacking the rich harmonies of the full string ensemble, it is still very effective.

Solfeggietto
- C.P.E. Bach arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
With apologies to CPE Bach for yet another arrangement of his Solfegietto, this is difficult but great fun to play and students enjoy the challenge. It makes a great encore piece and unless you are Eddie Daniels, it is much easier to play with two! Individual parts are available if you prefer larger print.

Two Part Inventions
- J.S.Bach arr. Alun Cook
Clarinet Duet
Bach's two part inventions are beautiful examples of his genius, both mathematical and aesthetic, and some transcribe well for clarinets. These are free! Just print the PDF's 2 Part Invention No 1
